Architecture Shaped by Place

RMJA is an architectural practice based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, specializing in residential architecture, hotels and resorts, commercial buildings, interior design and sustainable tropical architecture.

Founded in 2009, RMJA works with homeowners, property developers, hotel owners, investors and businesses to create thoughtful, functional and distinctive spaces.

From personalized residences in Colombo to boutique resorts in Sri Lanka's highlands, our work responds to the character of each site, the tropical climate and the needs of the people who use the building.

We believe good architecture should be more than visually impressive. It should be comfortable, functional, efficient, environmentally responsive and appropriate to its context.

Why Choose RMJA Architects?

Architecture Designed for Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka's climate, landscape and cultural context provide unique opportunities for architectural design. We consider orientation, natural ventilation, daylight, shading, landscape, materials and indoor-outdoor relationships from the earliest stages of every project.

Experience Across Building Types

Our portfolio includes personalized homes, luxury villas, boutique hotels, resorts, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, healthcare projects and interior design.

This diversity allows us to bring knowledge from different building types into every new project.

From Concept to Construction Documentation

RMJA provides an integrated design approach, coordinating architecture with structural engineering, MEP services, quantity surveying and other specialist consultants where required.

Design With Value in Mind

Architecture is an investment. We consider construction cost, functionality, operational efficiency, maintenance, environmental performance and the long-term value of the property alongside aesthetics.

A Collaborative Design Process

Every project begins with understanding the client, the site and the objectives of the development.

We work closely with clients throughout the design process so that the final architecture reflects both the opportunities of the site and the aspirations of its users.
